BEST HOLIDAY HAIR STYLES By HAIR TYPE

The holidays call for festive ensembles topped with a glam hairstyle, but your hair type may or may not lend to some of the hottest trending looks.

No fear! We're here to show you how to get your ‘do looking holiday ready with these attention-grabbing holiday hairstyles.

Best Holiday Hair Styles for Fine Hair

A little something for everyone. No matter what your hair texture or thickness is, we have a holiday look for you.

These looks are sexy with a bit of edge and one of the best hairstyles for turning fine hair into a voluminous masterpiece. You’ll just need some volumizing hair products and a decorative headband or headpiece. Here’s how it’s done.

Step 1: Starting with dry hair, choose where you're going to part your hair. Pull 1/2 inch to 1 inch on either side of your part and pin it up out of the way.

Step 2: Spray heat protection product on your roots, like Oway Thermo Detangling Spray. Using a small crimping iron, lightly crimp the root area throughout your hair avoiding the hair line and part area. This creates maximum root lift. If you don't have a crimping iron, then gently backcomb the area at the root area only.

Step 3: Take out your pinned up part area and smooth over crimped root area.

Step 4: Apply hair piece or headband. If wearing your hair down, use a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch curling iron to make messy waves. Don't forget to use a heat protectant spray.

Step 5: Spray a volumizing dry texture spray throughout ends. We love O&M Desert Dry Texturizing Spray. If wearing up, then pin up in low bun, leaving out front hair pieces and keeping it messy. Voila! You're the belle of the ball.

best holiday hairstyle for thick hair

So, ethereal and holiday-ready. This elegant style is your crowning glory for any dressy affair. Let’s just say, the result is well worth the effort.

Step 1: Brush through hair and create a deep part on the right side. Leave a few pieces of hairline out if you want to create a messier hair line. So cute.

Step 2: Pick a small section on the heavy side of the part and divide it into three sections. To create a dutch braid (you will braid exactly like a french braid but cross under, rather than over), take the right section and cross it under the middle section. Then cross the left section under the middle section.

Step 3: Next, repeat from the top, crossing the right section under the middle section – however, this time pick up more hair adding it to the right section as you cross it under. Then cross the left section under the middle section while adding more hair.

Step 4: Repeat the steps as you braid down to the left ear. Once the braid reaches the left ear, switch hands and continue the braid around the back of the head. You will be picking up and adding hair from the top of the head and the nape as you braid toward the right side of the head.

Step 5: Ensure you are adding all the hair from the back of the head as you work toward the right ear.

Step 6: Once you reach the back of the right ear, all of your hair should be included in the braid. At this point, you can continue braiding the remaining three strands down to the ends and secure with a clear, small hair tie.

Step 7: Pull the braid across the top of the head, setting it behind the beginning of the braid. Secure with hair pins. Tuck the end of the braid under the beginning braid so you can hide the hair tie.

Step 8: Sprinkle the braid with Kavella Teasing Powder then go back and pull the edges of the braid carefully to make the braid fuller and fluffier. Don’t worry about little hairs that come out as it looks great when it’s messy.

Step 9: Spray your hair with Cult & King Setspray to keep it in place all day long.
